Personal income tax return

If you have income that isn’t taxed through an employer’s PAYE scheme, such as from your business, from freelance work or as a result of renting out property, you’ll need to complete a personal tax return.

Do you need an accountant to complete your annual income tax return? The short answer is, no – at least not as a legal requirement. The truth is, though, that it makes a lot of sense to do so.

Revenue will generally let you know if they think you haven’t paid enough tax. What they’ll rarely do is come knocking on your door to let you know you’ve paid too much. As far as they’re concerned, it’s your job to make sure your tax return is completed correctly and submitted on time.

Clients in and around Carlow who trust us to look after their personal income tax returns benefit in several ways.

First, they get to take a job off their to-do list – one that we know can otherwise cause a lot of anxiety and frustration.

Secondly, they can rest assured that their Form 11 will be complete, accurate and filed on time via the Revenue Online Service (ROS)’.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, they get our expert advice on minimising their tax bill. We make it our mission to stay on top of the changes to Irish tax law that come out of Revenue on a constant basis. That’s how we’re able to make sure our clients claim all the tax credits, reliefs and exemptions to which they’re entitled.
